This cabinet (right) is sitting on an angle. This means the doors are likely to be racked – in this case the RH door looks higher than the LH door. Therefore the centre door catch can not marry into its lock position in the LH door. The cabinets are precision made and have minimal clearances.

 

There are 4 levelling feet in the goodie bag that comes with your safety cabinet on the bottom shelf.  Screw in the levelling feet into the bottom of each corner under the bund, there are strengthened / threaded plates to take a fully laden load of 500 kg,  and adjust them until the cabinet is level, ensuring the cabinet will not rock. (Like you would do if the cabinet was your fridge or washing machine). Also fitting the levelling feet will ensure the cabinet is slightly off the ground and in this case the centre of the base would not be fouling on the concrete below.  

 

At this time you have the option to fix the 2 x Stainless Steel Brackets also supplied in the goodie bag, to the top of the cabinet and to the wall behind with the screws and fixings supplied. Good practise especially in systemic areas. 

 

Optionally you can fit the earthing cable, also supplied, to the little screw near the bottom on the RH side of the cabinet and attach the alligator clip to something steel already in the ground. That angle brace in the next bay beside this cabinet would be great to attach the alligator clip too.  That earthing cable is to retard the effects of static electricity.
